As Earthlings, we are completely awestruck by the universe beyond our planet, but we almost never get a chance to really see it. There’s just so much in the universe that we can’t see, can’t hear, can’t even find. Even when we know it has to be there, as is the case with dark matter: the invisible stuff that, according to the laws of physics, makes up 96 percent of the universe. Yale astronomer Priya Natarajan says it is difficult–but not impossible—to find it, and continues to search.
